JAKARTA: With a relatively minor role in the newly released film Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Warrior), senior actor Alex Komang said he was satisfied with the movie and gave it two thumbs up.
He also praised director Riri Riza and producer Mira Lesmana for giving a good present to countrys audience.
The idea of the movie is strong. Its about a common struggle. A movie should have a strong moral idea. This is what we dream about…, Alex, who won the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) Award for the best actor in 1987, told The Jakarta Post on Friday.
In Laskar Pelangi, Alex plays a fisherman who dies at sea.
The thing is not how big or how small your role is. No matter how small a role is, it has its own value. Its up to us to make the role valuable, said the man whose real name Syaiful Nuha.
Alex, who was born in Jepara, Central Java on Dec. 17, 1961, said there were many good Indonesian movies released recently, but that Laskar Pelangi was among the few films that gives you something to think about. ” JP/Matheos Viktor Messakh
